Art has always been a major part of my life. I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing,  painting, or creating something crafty. It always found it's way into everything ...and not necessarily on purpose!

In my first grade math class, all the other students counted apples. "One apple plus two apples, equals three apples" the teacher said.  When she walked around to check my paper, there were no numbers, but there were three bright, shiny red apples! I was busy coloring while everyone else counted. That was the first time my love for art got me into trouble! There were many more times to follow, but it never stopped me from wanting to draw more than ever.

As I look back over the years, I realize that drawing was the one thing that was always with me, no matter what. As long as I had a pencil and a piece of paper, it didn't matter what else was happening. I could block it all out and be at peace, letting my pencil find something inside of me that needed to be let out onto the paper. Usually it was the best part of me and I believe that even today, it still is.

I've participated in fine art shows and craft festivals throughout the state of Florida. It gives me a chance to get away and do something different. Most of my fine art is done in Prismacolor pencil, but occasionally I throw in some acrylic and watercolor pieces just for fun.

What I like best about doing shows is meeting other artists and crafters face-to-face, getting the low-down on the show circuit, and finding out what the public is interested in seeing.
